To be or not to be...

Updated: Jun 14

“To be or not to be- that is the question…”, Spoken in Hamlet, written by a world-renowned author William Shakespeare who had an interesting view upon sight and vision. How is there opposition when, as humans being, we possess both qualities on this creative plane? I tend to ask myself this question often. Have you ever heard a physician tell you that you were right or left eye dominant? Thinking about it, I feel that any form of domination tends to leave room for weak spots.

For example, in a basketball game when playing defense, a box play sometimes require two men to defend the opponent handling the ball. This leaves one man open who is able to cut through the middle and make the shot if not guarded. Can we relate this to vision and sight? Vision, in my own words, is a goal intended with action (futuristic) and sight being what’s in the “now” moment, the happening. What if there is an equilibrium that causes sight and vision to come together to create a whole? To have one eye dominance is a weakness that most cannot see.
